About Brian
Brian Schimmel is a lifelong Oregonian—raised on a family dairy farm and rooted for the past 30 years in Forest Grove, where he and his wife, Barb, raised their two children. His commitment to public service is grounded in family values and shaped by early exposure to advocacy for individuals facing hardship.
Over the past decade, Brian has led complex public and nonprofit initiatives across Western Washington County, restoring organizational capacity, administering capital and service programs, and bringing together cross-sector partners to deliver tangible results for communities.
Prior to public service, Brian spent 19 years in the private sector in global roles spanning mergers and acquisitions, supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing. He built a reputation for navigating complex systems, aligning diverse stakeholders, and delivering at a global scale.
Brian later served as Housing Director and Special Projects Director for Centro Cultural, where he helped establish a housing department, led the acquisition and conversion of a Project Turnkey property into transitional housing, and administered capital projects funded through federal, state, and regional sources—ensuring compliance while advancing mission-driven outcomes.
Known for his ability to mobilize people and resources, Brian brings a disciplined, solutions-oriented approach to public service. His work consistently focuses on strengthening partnerships, improving system performance, and delivering results that benefit the broader community.
Today, Brian harnesses career experience as a Forest Grove City Councilor and founder-principal of Consultative Partners LLC, a state-designated Emerging Small Business (ESB), supporting organizations with strategic planning, capital project delivery, and cross-sector collaboration.
